Thanks to the generous support of hundreds of walkers, organizers, event planners and underwriters, WyoAIDS Walk 2010 has brought in more than $15,000 to date!

Funds were raised from walks in Laramie and Cheyenne, Drag Queen Bingo and the Spring Fling for AIDS Walk dance at Cloud 9. The 2010 efforts mark the walk's 9th year in Laramie and 2nd in Cheyenne.

This year's total bring our total funds raised to date to more than $135,000, which has helped Wyoming Citizens living with HIV/AIDS receive services that federal and state money can't cover. Funds are administered through the Laramie based non profit, Laramie Reproductive Health, and can be accessed through HIV/AIDS Case Managers across the state. Thanks to underwriting and volunteer efforts, almost every dollar raised through WyoAIDS Walk goes directly to client services.

WyoAIDS Walk 2009

The 2009 walk was a great success, despite the snow, raising nearly $20,000. The theme of the 8th annual WyoAIDS Walk was "The Risk is Not Knowing. Get Tested." At least 300 walkers braved the inclement Laramie weather for the 5-K pledge walk to raise funds to help men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS in Wyoming, as well as internationally. More than 30 people showed up for the April 4th satellite walk sponsored by St. Mark's Episcopal Church, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Cheyenne, the Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department, Across All Lines, and Wyoming Equality. Volunteers from a variety of UW student organizations, such as Face AIDS, UW staff, and community members joined together to organize the walk and its related education activities the week prior to the walk. Once again local merchants supported the "Paint the Town Red" project, displaying Red Ribbons throughout downtown Laramie prior to the walk. Funds were also raised through our fabulous "Red and Wild" Drag Queen Bingo, and a post walk Sunday Brunch at the Cavalryman Supper Club. Walk proceeds are administered by Laramie Reproductive Health, and may be accessed by residents across the state through their case managers. Additionally, the walk serves as a means of providing HIV/AIDS education, and offers remembrance for all those who have lost a loved one or friend to this disease.

WyoAIDS Walk 2008

With the theme of 'Be a Friend, Not Afraid, Stamp out Stigma', nearly 400 walkers, individuals or businesses donated money or gifts-in-kind to support the 2008 WyoAIDS Walk. We had our best walk ever! More than $20,000 was raised, which brings our seven year total to more than $100,000! Additionally, nearly 100 people took advantage of the free rapid HIV testing offered the week prior to the walk, and several hundred more attended one of the education programs offered.

Many Laramie merchants participated in the "Paint the Town Red" campaign, displaying Red Ribbons in support of the walk. Money raised from the walk will help men and women living with HIV in Wyoming and their families. Walk money helps when no other funds are available to help with medicaion co-pays, dental and vision care, counseling, and other unmet needs. Addionally, money from the 2008 walk went to the NAZ Foundation in India, providing care and support for HIV infected children, and to Partners in Health, providing care, education and support in Rwanda and other third world countries.
